Master foods Ltd., (President Steven H. Dacus, Kawasaki-city, Kanagawa) had press conference for spring products on 28th January. The biggest theme is 'senior food'. Master foods have investigated about pet market well. And there is result of this time, the ratio of senior dog is 42% and the ratio of the becoming senior dog is 30%. So this ratio shows big potential for growing up on pet market. And about cat, the ratio of senior cat is 33%. But the senior cat food is sold only for 10% at the pet market. Master food think, as they support the senior cat food now, they will play a great part on the cat senior market.

Nisshin pet food co.,ltd, (President Takashi Seo, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo) released the new products, which is the point of tasty and healthy, and also they renewed the products on 1st March. The share of the dried cat food doubled for an year. They made up the senior food because the number of senior cat has increased. And precious gourmet type series has new products, 'one meal' type. About Nisshin pet food main brand 'Carat mix', it has the first time to sell canned food.

Inaba Pet food has been 15 years since foundation, and their products cat food 'chao series' has been listed up on the book as successful niche example. This book is made up by professor Naoto Onzo who is marketing scholar in Waseda university and the researcher at the same office. As for this book, single canned food (80g-90g) is sold for 100 yen at the store. It is set up high price products like 'chao whity series'. Nestle Purina Petcare KK (President Greig Flar, in Kobe-city, Hyogo) released the new products.
BONES, which have been high sales records, is dog snack brand. They says that dog snack market has been tended to be expanded. In 2004 as for the based money it's glowed up to 102.7%. And as for the pound based, it's glowed up to 104.5%. They also says this is going to be continued. The ingredients is changed as Japanese taste. And the package is renewed, that will be the animal activated with Friskies letters on 1st April.
Smatra earthquake Tsunami support campaign (page 26)
Unicef (Chairman Sumida, in Minato-ku, Tokyo) have campaign which supported for the area suffered from Smatra earthquake Tsunami by 31st March. Mumin Inc. has done business exclusive to puppy and kitty for 35 years since 1969. And they had been glowing up for developing many shops demanded on developer. But in December 2004, they changed their organization.
Then Wan nyan mura succeed to Mumin business except for management of Nikko Wan Nyan mura and overseas affairs. Wan nyan mura have 44 shops around metropolitan area by counted in December 2004. So they estimate to have 50 shops this year. Last year they sold over 20,000 increased 25%. From now on they will set on after-care service and will try to support with the customer's pet life and also various challenge.

ODAWARA Pet center (President Yukawa, Odawara-city, Kanagawa) is the general shop that is breeding and hybrid. Before they used to have ornamental fish, birds, reptiles and so on. Now they still have a bit gold fish, most of them are dog breeding. The number of parents dog is 130 to 140. The number of 30 to 40 are born per month. And 80% of them will be up to the market.
Nowadays Tiwawa and Duckshund are very popular and their price has gone up because of the TV commercial. But this momentum are over breeding. So the balance of demand and supply are broken down. President Yukawa said 'Once it's up to be boom, it was too late. It's more important to make the best breed dog than following the fashion. Whole the industry have very sharp eyes, so the best dog should be good price.'
In Thai market lots of Japanese buy poodle there. So the price has been up. But President Yukawa said 'From now on, the company will be selected continually. And also there will be restrict of import. It will be changed the situation.'
